Recap of Our 28 Day Journey Across the United States ~ By Tom ~
Hello again to everyone that clicked on the “follow” button in the lower right hand corner of your computers and smart phones or just signed in to see what we had been up too. It is so appreciated. All your comments and emails have been so uplifting and encouraging. Some of you probably wondered where we went to? Well, first I must say when we finally reached home we were exhausted. We didn’t realize just how much so until about the 3rd day when we couldn’t find our groove and our bodies kept telling us to take another nap. We decided to take some time to quietly reflect on our adventure before pressing the keys again. This is when we stumbled on an article “Living the Van Life: What to Know Before You Go” by Nicole Lindstrom. Wow, did she hit the nail on the head in this article. There were only small differences between them and us in that we were traveling in a 2002 Toyota Camry with our 54 pound Labrador Retriever Emma taking up half the back seat. Nicole Lindstrom’s article was a God send. It affirmed some of what we were feeling after our 28-day journey across the United States. Now after resting and reviewing the many photographs and stories obtained we are ready to go again. We have gained even more respect for those that have embarked on journeys such as this and hope to learn more from them and others as they share their wisdom. We also realize that even if we had read Nicole’s article prior to us embarking on our journey it wouldn’t have had the value it now does. I guess the adage is worth repeating “we learn from our mistakes”. I’ll talk more about that article down the road and what we learned but first I would like to spend the next several days recapping our journey for those of you that may not have had time to go back through our site to read about our journey.
Well, I am going to sign off for now so you can catch up on those things you need to do after your busy day. We hope you sign back in tomorrow to follow this series of articles.
