The Journey From Beulah, MI to Mackinaw City, MI ~ By Tom ~

After a greats night sleep and coffee it was time to pack up and hit the road once again from our stay here at Platte River Campground.  We got back on route M-22 and headed further North without any goal in mind other than enjoy the scenic drive and the people we met along the way.  We made time to travel through Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore for some great scenes.  All that driving sure does make one hungry so we stopped at this romantic little sidewalk café called East Park Tavern in Charlevoix, MI.  As we left around 5 the sights got even more spectacular.   We finally settled in at Mackinaw Mill Creek Campgrounds that overlooked Mackinaw Island, home of the famous Grand Hotel where the movie “Somewhere In Time” was filmed.  In case you romantics out there haven’t seen that flick check it out.
