Welcome back to a recap of our trip across United States and day 27 of our journey. We were up and going by 10 from our Marion, IL hotel and on the road to our destination, “Garden of the Gods” in Herod, IL. We arrived around 11:30 and what a spectacular place with some of the most breathtaking views one can imagine. From here we headed to Cave in Rock State Park in Cave-In-Rock, IL. Another beautiful area with incredible sights. From here it was off to Carmi, IL where we enjoyed some good food at Yesterday’s Drive Inn. We met some wonderful down to earth people. Then it was on to Grayville, IL to settle in for a good night’s rest for our last night on the highway. We traveled 6 hours today covering 177 miles.
