I am absolutely loving being out here on the road with Tom and Emma, the sweet chocolate lab. It’s amazing to think that we have been going for 12 days now. As I think back over the journey, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite things so far ~
~ Being outdoors all the time ~ it is so very enjoyable, peaceful and enriching ~ to realize that all we need is right here in this 2002 Toyota Camry helps me to see how much more I can let go of…
~ Meeting so many incredible, nice, humble people who’ve shared moments of their lives ~ I am so thankful for their openness and generosity ~ welcoming us and guiding us along the way…
~ The two lane roads that go on forever, winding this way and that ~ and sometimes turning into a dirt road that dead ends at a river ~ but always finding our way back
~ The coffee for Tom to keep him going down the back roads ~ he has driven all 1,600 miles so far ~ and the chocolate for me…
~ Never knowing where we’ll end up that night ~ and being OK with that ~ all Tom has to say is that there will be a campground and sure enough, one appears out of nowhere…
~ Relaxing into the unknown ~ just about every step of our journey has changed along the way for one reason or another ~ and it all works out for the best ~ with a smile…
~ For all the kindness from everyone we meet ~ Dani recommending M22 for our way through Michigan, Lynda at Camping in the Clouds in Wisconsin giving us a jump start when the battery died, and so many more…
~ Knowing when it’s time to sleep in a hotel bed and regroup ~ word of warning, never eat a chicken sandwich that’s been under a heat lamp at a gas station…
~ Staying in one place for two or three days to catch up and be still, outside ~ it’s a bit unusual sitting at a picnic table at our campsite while working on the computers for hours at a time…
~ For the sun and the rain ~ even when we get soaked to the bone putting up the tarp, the sun always returns to dry us out ~ and Emma gets a much needed bath…
~ For “no dogs allowed” leading us to better places ~ a wonderful campsite and beautiful kite surfing just to name a couple…
~ Finding the balance between making headway on the journey, the daily work involved with camping, the enriching time spent with all the folks we’re meeting along the way, and the effort to pull the stories of it all together and share it on the blogsite…
~ Thank you for sharing the journey with us ~
that’s funny cuz we say the same about ourselves.

Nah, I am the least of His children, in every way. But it is the least I can do since He has loved me and kept me especially since I do not deserve it. I figure His Word is what is helping me be a better child of His, if it can do that for a sinner like me, then there is hope for everyone!!!!

Thank you so much for saying these kind words. You are doing a wonderful feat by sharing the Word for all to see. It takes a strong person to stand for their faith. We stand with you.

Ah, Great analogy!!! I guess Bill and I have been together for 42 years and living so intimately closely for 3 1/2 years, we’re pretty much coming out as one letter such as Paul wrote!!! Lol

LOL mmmmm whipped cream. I bet y’all have the best set up ever!! I nominated you for the Awesome Blogger Award. I don’t know if you do awards, I usually don’t but it’s from a wonderful young blogger who truly loves God and is a joy to me, so I can’t say no to her. It’s for blogs that I look forward to and love to read so obviously yours is one of them. Thank you Ann. We brought out these old post to fill in while we were on another road trip following the Susquehanna River into Pennsylvania. It was fun looking back at our beginnings and to see when we had no one seeing our site. Now through the days we have gotten the gift of meeting you and Mandy. Emma sends hugs too.

Thank you so much Debbie for your encouragement. This whole journey we are on is a giant work in progress. We smile, no laugh, as we look back on our first postings in September. We learn from so many like yourselves on how to find that balance of experiencing each new adventure and then how to share it. We’re sure there will come a day when your hubby will be typing along side of you with excitement sharing his views. Until he does you are doing a wonderful job sharing for the both of you. Thank you for being along side of us and letting us learn and gain energy from the paths you are showing us.

I’m enjoying your blog! I especially like how you each post! My husband could add much but he’s not into expressing his views in writing! So he tells me and I incorporate his thoughts….but I’m sure mine overshadow his! 😳
