Hello everyone and welcome back to our journeys through the United States. We are excited to begin sharing with you our most recent expedition through North Carolina. Before we get into the story we wanted to give you a teaser of the folks we met along the way through this amazing state.
We hope this has whetted your appetite to come back and experience the stories told through words, photographs, videos & sounds.
Loved the line from the movie “Parenthood” about life being a roller coaster and not wanting to miss it. It surely is a ride and wouldn’t want to have missed it. Hang in there because the best is yet to come.

same here – would not want to go back – and the hubs and I were just talking about how some weeks do fly by and then an occasional month will drag – happens rarely – but does happen for us

Its amazing how time flies. When we were younger it seemed to pass more slowly. Then again I don’t want to go back to being younger just to slow down the clock.

Sounds great. We can’t wait to hear of your new insights. There is much to post on the topic of blogging. We are at the one year anniversary of our site and we’ll be touching on it too. It has been great being on this journey with you through the ups and downs and all arounds life throws at us.

Thanks so much – and I was actually thinking about making a blog post with thoughts on blogging because I did have a nice insight come way over the last year – and would you believe the analogy came from the show called Chopped.
So I will share more about that soon.
but thanks for your extra kind words and not only do we share road trip passion, but your energy and chemistry came to my blog when i needed that infusion – so I am extra grateful for that connection (and I have another tidbit to add regarding that but I am running out and have limited time right now – so ttys on that one)
peace

We are so EXCITED having you back posting again. You and your site was so instrumental in helping us to learn the art of blogging. Our conversations have always left us encouraged and we look forward to sharing in each others journeys. We’re sure your time away from the blogging world has given you new perspective that we’ll all benefit from.

Going with the flow – what a lovely way to live! Twice a year I’m tempted to replace all of my clocks with that version. Better use for the funds right now, but someday . . .
You guys could trade in all those watches for one that sets itself – lol.

LOL. Its funny but Tom use to have a fetish for watches and since retiring they sit in a drawer. We just enjoy going with the flow these days. I guess after so many years of wrestling with the clock to reach that point. This is why we are so conscious of how we “spend” our time. We’ve realized it goes quickly. The atomic clocks are a great idea. We see them in different places.

I don’t mind it so much now that I finally have one of those “atomic clocks” to remind me of the correct time without having to keep going back to my office to check the computer – lol. I used to go round and round with the DST resetting until I finally found one on sale and “bit the bullet.” (with no sense of time, I have clocks on almost every wall!)

Isn’t that a royal pain having to go around and set all the clocks. In Florida where my parents retired too the electric went out all the time and they were daily running around the house setting em. It was okay because it gave them something more to do and laugh about.

I feel the same way about learning & growing in a community.
The station did not go out totally again (at least not while I was awake) – and for that I was/am very grateful. NOW to reset the clocks on the electrics – lol. I left them blinking until the storm passed.
Today I awakened to a cloudy sky and a gloriously breezy cool day, fall-like in temperature. Isn’t nature’s AC a miracle? π

LOL. We are smiling because it’s the pits when you read someone’s comment and there is so much to remark on because you were touched in wonderful ways and after you think you have it ready to go and send doesn’t work or like you experienced the power goes out and the little return arrow next to the persons comment doesn’t show up. We can relate Madelyn and its pure joy knowing you are with us as we are with you. This is such a great adventure growing and learning together and from each other!!!

You may get two comments from me – my electricity went out momentarily, just as I hit ‘post’ (raining here), and I had to reboot my computer. I can’t recall what the original comment said, besides thank you for sharing – which I can never say enough. You know I love following your journeys.

We’ll make it there someday soon for sure. As for the boiled peanuts maybe its an acquired taste and one day we’ll acquire it, lol. But there is plenty of other Georgia cuisine we know we’ll love.

Ahhh…you have to come to Arizona some time. We do have the Grand Canyon after all. Since most days involve sunshine, you’re sure to take some amazing photos. π And Georgia is lovely of course! Have you ever tried boiled peanuts? I am thinking you have, but that is a must try if not. Thank you so much for your compliment–from you both! π

We haven’t been to Arizona yet but it certainly is on our desire list. It is nice you have visited the east coast and can relate to the regions we are exploring. In a few weeks we are setting out to explore Tennessee. After that Georgia. We’ve only been through Georgia and short stop overs so are looking forward to feasting on it beauty. We’ll be spending Christmas again this year touring Florida. It is so nice having you along with us Sharon and that you have that desire to travel too. We are enjoying your site immensely.

While I live in Arizona, I love traveling through the East Coast. Beautiful area and friendly people. I am just returning from a trip to Georgia (my home state) and Florida. I will tell you so many people stop and have time for a smile. π

Omg I love that region!! I’ve only seen pictures but would like to actually visit someday. Can I (virtually) tag along? I’ll make myself useful; maybe I can be the Map Chick; or I’ve also been known for my restaurant-choosing prowess πππππ
