Our Favorite 2016 Out West Campground

Hello everyone.  Today we wanted to share with you one of the campgrounds we stayed at on our September 2016 road trip across the United States on our way to the state of Montana.  The place was Sleeping Bear Dunes – Platte River Campground.

This is part of the National Park system and was highly rated. We sure understood why – the campsites and facilities were clean, well maintained and most of all very quiet and peaceful. If you’re ever in western Michigan, we highly recommend it.

We hope to see you back again real soon and until then be safe and keep looking up.

  1. It rarely rains in Los Angeles but I’ve seen and weathered a couple of storms in other places. I always find storms comforting and I have no idea why…😊

  2. Yes! Me too. We are (luckily) having a bit cooler spell the last couple of days. Just barely in the 60s. We actually got rain overnight yesterday, my yard is very grateful. 🙂

  3. It was so incredible seeing it coming at us. The group watching quickly weaned as the bolts of lighting became more prominent. Such beauty to a storm like that. You must get some terrific ones where you are?

  4. We agree. There is something about watching its intensive energy that is exciting and at the same time relaxing. Our recent road trip to NC captured some great storm footage that we’ll be sharing soon.

  5. Thanks Margaret. It for sure was a powerful storm blowing in, complete with big lightening bolts and huge rain drops. We hung around as long as we could knowing that every minute the active storm was nearing us. Then it happened…. we watched as the rains started heading across the water toward us as we turned and high tailed it to the van.
