All our doggies were rescues, too. As are 4 of our 5 cats. Well, actually the doggies and the cats were strays that came wandering by our place [in Karnes County south of San Antonio at that time] and decided to adopt us, so to speak. And I totally agree with you: they give you so much love back!
Btw, I’m happy that I finally managed to leave a commtn. I’ll try that some time soon with a article, too.

We now know that if the time comes again to find another dog we wouldn’t hesitate to check out the animal shelters. I guess there are a lot of animal rescue groups out there that will find different breeds for you? We’re glad to that you were able to leave comments. So important to be able to exchange thoughts.

Same here: if at any time we’ll get another dog, it’ll either be a stray or from a shelter. There’s so much need there. And we wouldn’t care if it’s a special breed.

Sometimes those special breed dogs come with some genetic challenges that the good ole fashioned “mutt” doesn’t have. And certainly we mean “mutt” in a good way.

Hm, I’m not sure if my first comment here got through. At least I can’t see it. Maybe it ended up in your spam folder. Hopefully not in the electronic nirvana.

Thanks to you teaching us about the spam folder we’ll put it out if it did. One would think that if it ends up there and you click the choice “not spam” that in the future it wouldn’t go there. Oh well there we go again thinking, lol.

Well, one would think that “freeing” someone from being imprisoned in the spam folder would work once and for all, but I was told – by one of WP’s “happiness engineers” – that this isn’t so. Their anti-spam software doesn’t do this, for reasons I think are ridiculous, and it’s “once a spammer [even if wrongly identified as such], always a spammer.”
Thanks, though, for checking your spam folder.
My first comment, btw was, that 4 of our 5 cats and all the dogs we had are/were rescues. Actually they were strays that happened to come by our place [at that time in Karnes County] and decided to stay and, kind of, “adopt us”.

This is great that you take good care of stray animals like that. We like the way you say that “adopt us”. Animals have a way of drawing us in and staying awhile.
